Release: Senator John Fetterman Endorses Sarah McBride for Congress

America’s Tallest Senator & America’s Second Smallest State

Wilmington, DE — Today, Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman announced his endorsement of Sarah McBride for Delaware’s at-large congressional seat.

“Sarah McBride is a model for the next generation of leaders that our Congress desperately needs. She’s led the way in proving that small states can do big things and she’s done it by bringing people together,” said Senator John Fetterman (PA). “Let’s make history, Delaware. And by the way, let’s get a Sheetz in Delaware so I can visit.”

“I could not be more honored to have the endorsement of Senator Fetterman. He has been a champion for working people, fighting to create jobs, expand the union way of life, stop gun violence, and legalize marijuana,” said Sarah McBride of the announcement.

“Senator Fetterman knows we need leaders who can deliver for both Delaware’s biggest cities and smallest towns. In the legislature, I’ve passed legislation that expands access to health care in rural communities, guarantees paid leave, keeps guns out of our schools, and empowers unions. I look forward to working with Senator Fetterman to deliver pro-worker policies, good paying jobs, and meaningful investment to our region.”

Senator Fetterman joins over 25 unions representing thousands of Delaware workers, 21 members of the General Assembly, Planned Parenthood Action Fund, dozens of advocacy groups and Delaware’s current Attorney General Kathy Jennings, Treasurer Colleen Davis, Insurance Commissioner Trinidad Navarro, State Auditor Lydia York, and both the Congressional Progressive Caucus PAC and NewDems Action Fund in endorsing Sarah McBride for Delaware’s at-large Congressional seat. A 2023 poll commissioned by Human Rights Campaign Equality Votes PAC showed McBride with a 20 point lead in the race, leading the primary with 44% of the vote among likely Democratic voters.
